Moving…

August 22, 2007

We are on our way… This move is happening in stages and stage one is complete. Caroline, Katherine and I left Richmond on Monday. My mom flew in last week so that she could also make the drive with us (she will take the train back to RI this afternoon). We are spending the next week at Carol and Frank’s (Rob’s parents) while work is completed on the new house and our moving truck makes the journey northward. More updates to come…

People are reading!

August 15, 2007

I just returned from book club and one of my book club friends told me that she checks my blog everyday- how exciting! I have readers… That is just the pressure I need to keep writing! Things are totally nutty here- we move on Monday. We are trying to squeeze everything in this week- doctors appointments, visits with friends and packing and now, writing for my faithful blog readers! Thanks for reading!

Family Trip update…

August 9, 2007

I am really enjoying our family trip. It is really amazing how changing your language can change your impression of an event. For example, the following would be annoying if we were on “vacation” but are really just part of the day (and some times even funny) on a family trip:

  • Katherine had a fever of 104.9 for two days and was finally diagnosed with a raging ear infection. Her spirits are, fortunately, much improved, her fever is gone and all seems good except for the rash she developed this morning.
  • The latest Caroline has slept is 6am. This morning I was able to see the sun rise over the beach when we went on our daily adventure outside of the house to let others sleep.
  • We are sleeping on a pull out couch in the basement where we hear the pipes rushing with water everytime someone flushes the toilet.
  • Yesterday, when I was showering, Caroline and her five year old cousin came running into the bathroom fighting over who would go potty first. My nephew won.
  • At dinner last night, I looked over and saw Caroline sitting on the edge of the table wearing only her underware. She told me she had spilled water on her clothes. Oh…

To be continued…

Family Trip

August 2, 2007

Just a quick update- we are on the beginning of our family trip- I have recently learned of this great term to describe a “vacation” spent with your family and kids- not vacation as you once understood the term but a family trip instead…- so I may be quiet on the blogging front. Did want to say that we closed on the Ridgewood house today- yeah! Let the adventure begin!
